Butterflies Thinlits

I absolutely love this new dies set!

blackberry

I have played with it more than anything else in the Occasions catalog. I used Blackberry Bliss card stock and ink on this card. Such a rich, beautiful color.

Melon Mambo was used on this card. The flower border was made using the single flower in the “Simply Wonderful” stamp set, which is available for free with any $50 or more order from Stampin’ Up! through March 31, 2015.

Melon Mambo was used on this card too. I love pink!

Sketch Challenge #2

lg lace

For this weeks Glitter Queens sketch challenge I wanted to use this beautiful designer paper.

sketch1This paper is in the Occasions catalog and is called “Something Borrowed.” The colors are Sahara Sand and Whisper White. So elegant!

sketch2

This card shows off the “Petal Potpourri”  stamp set and “Flower Medallion” punch (also in the Occasions catalog).  I cut the medallion and added it below the greeting for a lacy border. The sentiment on the cards is one of the free stamp sets in the Sale-A-Bration catalog!

Irresistibly Yours in Black

bl double

This paper is amazing! It’s called Irresistibly Yours and it is overlooked by most who have seen the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

bl single

We played with this paper at my class Thursday night and the ladies were blown away at how much fun this paper can be. It is white, and it has a pre-embossed white pattern on it. When you add your ink to it, the embossing resists the ink but the background accepts it. So, after you add your ink, you just wipe across the paper to remove the ink from the embossed area and reveal the pre-embossed white pattern. With this card we used a large background stamp to add the black lacy pattern. After we wiped across it with a paper towel, the white flowers were revealed.   You can also sponge, brayer, or use daubers to add color to the background. (See my February 12, post for another card I did with this paper.)

bl both

Here are the two cards that we did at class Thursday night. Actually, everyone ended up doing the one on the right for both of their cards. That lacy butterfly is too pretty to leave off!  I got my inspiration for this card on YouTube from Linda Bauwin.  Click HERE to see her video.

The best part about this amazing paper is that you can get it FREE with any purchase of $50.00 or more from Stampin’ Up! This offer is good until March 31, 2015.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ve listed all the supplies for these card below. If you’d like to purchase any of these items, just click on them. Or feel free to contact me.  You can also place an order by clicking HERE.

Pearl Overload?!

pearls

Can you have too many pearls on a card?

hearts

I made this card for a sketch that Dawn Griffith posted for her “Glitter Queens.”  This embossing folder is so pretty that I decided to make it a subtle focal point by adding lots of pearls and framing it. This a new Stampin’ Up! embossing folder that is in the current Occasions catalog.

bermuda bay

You may recognize the focal point of this card from my post on Wednesday. I had embossed some Whisper White card stock with this folder and they were laying on my work surface next to the cards. I picked up a card and laid it on top of the embossed card stock and loved the combination.

pink butterfly

I love all the pearls! However, my stash was quickly dwindling! It takes a lot more than you’d think. So with this Melon Mambo card I cut one row all the way around off. Still have the same affect but saved myself about 26 pearls. (I really need to add pearls to my next Stampin’ Up! order!)

blackberry

This card was done with Blackberry Bliss. It’s such a beautiful, rich, color.

blackberry inside

This is how I finished off the inside. I used the same flower that I used to make the wreath on the front.

Glitter Queens Blog Hop Day Three

Today is the last day of the Glitter Queen Blog Hop and it has been a blast!

bermuda wreath   wreath calypso

Okay, I was surfing YouTube the other day and came across a video that was so awesome! This lady took a single flower from the stamp set “Simply Wonderful” (page 16 in the Sale-A-Bration catalog) and made a wreath out of it. I was so excited to try it! And I knew exactly what I wanted to put in the center of this wreath. Yep, a Lollie!

lg teal

I just fell in love with this wreath! So many ways to use it! Here I used the butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlits Dies which are available now in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog.  I used Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay on this card. The size of the card is 4″x 4″.

melon thank you

After making the 4 x 4″ cards, I decided to adapt the wreath to fit 3 x 3″ cards.  They turned out great! These ones here are Melon Mambo.

burmuda thankyou

On these 3 x 3″ cards I used the “Butterfly Basics” stamp set and coordinating “Butterflies” Thinlits die. (Also in the Occasions catalog.) This lacy butterfly if so pretty.

elegant thank you

Elegant Eggplant was used on these cards.

I have often wished I could make my own bag with Designer Series Paper that would be big enough to hold a stamp set.

tealbag

I was surfing YouTube one day and came across a video that was perfect for making such a bag! This one above I made with the “Best Day Ever” free paper that is available right now from Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration with a $50.00 or more purchase.  And the buttons and ribbon called “Best Day Ever Accessory Pack” are also available for free with a $50.00 or more order.

cherrycobblerbaf

This bag I made with retired Designer Series Paper. What a great way to use up some of the paper that has been sitting around! And what better way to decorate then with a Lolly or Rosette?!

bags2

This photo shows the size of the bag. It easily holds a stamp set plus room for lots more. It takes 2, 12×12″ sheets of paper. It measures  7″ tall x 6″ wide x 3″ deep. Very quick and easy to put together. Now I can have matching bag and card! Click here to watch the video.

Glitter Queens Blog Hop Day One of Three

large lolly

I am SO excited! This is my first blog hop to participate in. My team members, “The Glitter Queens,” invited me. This will be a 3 day blog hop so be sure to stop by tomorrow and Wednesday to see what special items we’ve chosen for you.

hanging

I love, love, love, to make Lollies or Rosettes. This past Christmas I made a lot of them. I added ribbon and hung them on gifts (see photo above), I did a class for them, and I handed them out and decorated my tree with them. Everyone loved them!

gift trio

Unfortunately, I only have a few left and I didn’t take pictures of the ones I gave away.

square

They don’t all have to be round!  (As I placed this on the red background to take a picture today, I thought, “What a pretty card this would make.”)

first postit

Also this past Christmas I made a bunch of Post-It note holders out of chip board and coasters. I made so many in fact, that I still have quite a stash of them. The one above is my very first one. I cut the chip board and sanded and inked the edges. It is quite a lot of work unless you are only going to do one or two. I made quite a few this way until my coasters arrived!

teal rosezette  tealpostit inside

The coaster Post-It note holders were easier since they were already cut. This shows the inside. The 3×3″ Post-It notes work great.

teal no lolly  bow

The two above aren’t decorated with Lollies but are just as pretty.

eggplantpostit  green

It is so much fun trying different patterns of paper. Also, decorating the tops with different embelishments.

3 lollies

lollies

This is a good way to use up some of that retired DSP you have. I used the Stampin’ Up! Rosette bigz XL die to make my Lollies but you can also get the same affect with the score board. Just score every 1/4″. I used 2 strips about 11 1/2″ long and 2″ wide to make 1 Lolly for my Post-It note covers.

So are you ready to see what the next person on the blog hop has in store for you? Just click the “Next” button below. There is also a list of participants and you can go directly to their blog by clicking on their name.  Thanks for stopping by! Please come back tomorrow. I have more fun stuff planned for you!

Card With Matching Box

lg flower

I know, you probably expected a Valentine’s card. But this card could also be made with the Sweet Heart Punch instead of the Pansy Punch!

red cardOn this card I used the new “Something Borrowed Embellishments” in the Occasions catalog. I LOVE bling! And these embellishments add just the right touch.  The designer paper is also from the Occasions catalog and is called “Stacked with Love.”  The card measures 3 1/4″ by 5 1/2″.

inside

I like to make the inside special too. I’m thinking this would be a card for any occasion but would make a really pretty Mother’s Day card.

box

And how cute to have a small matching box to add a treat. These boxes are just 2″x 2″ x 2″ and are also in the Occasions catalog and you get 25 of them for just $6.95! Did you notice the box on top?! Another of my favorite items in the Occasions catalog! Stampin’ Up! has really stepped up with some awesome items for this catalog. The bow is made from a punch! Yes, a punch!  And it goes together so quick and easy too. I love it!

Butterfly Thinlits Dies

lg butterfly

There are so many fun things in the new Occasions catalog! This is just one of the Butterfly Thinlits dies. The set comes with 3 dies, one of which has a coordinating stamp that you can get. The Butterfly Thinslits and the stamp set, Butterfly Basics, are also available in a bundle to help you save money!

butterfly single

This card was made with Lost Lagoon card stock & Blackberry Bliss Card stock.  The designer paper, Irresistibly Yours,  is from the Sale-A-Bration catalog and is one of the items you can choose for free with a $50.00 or more order. I used Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon & Pink Pirouette inks on the designer paper.  This paper is so fun because you can make it any color you want and still have the white embossing show through.
