Shaker Card

shaker2

I have been stamping for almost 30 years and this is the first time I’ve made a shaker card. It was fun and easy. Next time though I would make a smaller opening because it took too many sequins. 😃

I used the Gold Soirée DSP. This paper is wonderful! I also used the Stampin Up! shaker frames (page 205) which made this project very easy. The first card opens from the bottom and this one opens from the side. Thanks for stopping by!

Starburst Card

This card was inspired by Dawn Griffith. It looks complicated to make but is actually quite easy. I used the Moonlight paper stack, Hello Honey and Whisper White card stock I also used the 1 3/8″ circle punch, 2″ circle punch and Starburst Framelits. The stamps are from the Hostess set “Hello There.”

This is another version that I made. For this one I used the Gold Soiree DSP. This is beautiful paper! It has the feel of a glossy magazine page only thicker. It’s hard to describe but it feels very rich. And the colors are gorgeous! I used Garden Green as my background layer and Pistachio Pudding for the medallion layer. I also added some pearls.

2014 Stampin’ Up! Convention Celebrities

Sam Donald, Me, & Angie Juda

Sam Donald (Pootles) and Me in a café downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Sam was fresh off the airplane after traveling from the UK. She is beautiful! We had such a nice visit. She is just as nice in person as she seems in her videos!

I wanted to share some of my highlights from convention. This was my first year to attend and it was wonderful! My most favorite part was being able to meet Sam Donald. We have been internet friend for over a year and I never thought we’d ever actually meet in person.

I also got to meet other celebrities that I have been watching on YouTube for years. Angie Juda who was very sweet to include Sam with her group and make sure she was not by herself.

And I met Dawn Griffith! She is so SWEET! She gave me a hug and I just love her!

I also met France Martin and was able to speak with her for a few minutes but didn’t get a photo. ):  And I met Connie Stewart! Again, no photo. I would get too excited and forget.  LOL!

Two Cases One Card

Wow! I can’t believe it’s been 2 months since I last posted! In July I was getting ready for the Stampin’ Up! convention. And then afterwards, I was getting caught up.  I didn’t take a break from my stamping or classes but just didn’t find the time to keep my blog updated. I am going to try to do better now that things are settled down.  This card that I’m posting today was inspired by 2 cards that I saw on Pinterest.  I incorporated elements from both cards into just one.

I really like the results. This card could be used for any occasion. We will be making this card in my September classes at the Dowling Library. It’s already on display there and I have gotten several compliments on it. In fact, my Monday night class filled up the first day! I used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock. Crumb cake ink pad, the small flower from the “Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, 7/8” Scallop Circle punch, Postage Stamp punch, Fun Flower punch and “Bloom for You” stamp (Also added some pearls and ribbon).
