Middle Step Card

image

This is a card that I made for my husband for Fathers Day. I saw a video on YouTube on how to make it. It’s actually quite easy but looks complicated. It’s a little feminine for a man but he didn’t seem to mind. (:

With the following two cards, I layered the center card and I think it looks much better. I also didn’t attach the center so that I can add a sentiment later.

Nephew’s Birthday Card

image

I saw this card on Pinterest and just had to case it. Another fun card for the little ones. I remember when my granddaughters were small, Elmo & Big Bird were their favorites.

Grandson’s Birthday Card

image

This is a card I made for my grandson. I don’t do a lot of kids cards but this was a fun one. It used lots of punches and embossing folders. I cased this from the Internet but do not remember where. Sorry.

Thanks for stopping by.

Yes, I Love Making Boxes

image

I don’t know what it is about making boxes, but they are so fun for me! These boxes were inspired by Sam at http://pootles.wordpress.com . Sam’s website is a great place for inspiration. I tweaked her pattern a little but it’s assembled just like hers.

I started with a 9 x 6 1/2″ piece of card stock. On the 9″ side, I scored at 1″, 4″, 5″, & 8″. Turn & score at 3/4″, 1 3/4″, 4 3/4″, & 5 3/4″.

This box was covered with Modern Medley DSP. The flower was made with the Five Way Flower stamp. I stamped it 4 times and then used several scallop circle punches and used dimensionals for layering.

For this one I used Afternoon Picnic DSP, Pear Pizzaz ribbon & my own coffee filter flower.

Notebook Covers

image

We made black notebook covers in my last stamp class at my home. They were a big hit! I had a lady that comes into the library where I work, request a purple one. We will be making these in our next class at the library and she isn’t able to join us. So, this is one I made just for her. If you’d like to make one for yourself, you can get the measurements and instructions at http://www.brandyscards.com .

The inside has a cute pocket for adding a card or small gift. If you have any questions, let me know!

Two More File Folder Cards

image

I was in my craft room Saturday, and I had so much fun making these cards. I love it when a tool such as the envelope punch board can be used for purposes other than it was intended. I actually made several of this style of cards just because they are easy and so much fun to make. These two were special because I made them for friends. One is a thank you and the other a birthday card. Oh, and I can’t forget the flowers! Every time I make one I am surprised at how beautiful they turn out. Hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by.

Finished Work In Progress

image

This is how I finished off the card that was posted a few days ago. I love these butterflies and tend to go to them when I feel a card needs just a little something more. And adding a few pearls doesn’t hurt either. Thanks for looking!

Modern Medley File Folder Card

I have been wanting to try this card made with the new Envelope Punch Board and finally found some time for it. It was so fun! I could have played with it all day! The flower was made the same as on my last post except, I used the 7/8″ scallop punch. Other supplies used: Artisan Label punch, Hexagon punch, Modern Medley DSP, Very Vanilla card stock & seam binding ribbon.

Tomorrow I will post the finished card for “Work in Progress.” Thanks for stopping by!

Work in Progress

This is a card I have been working on. I’m not sure what it’s missing, but it just doesn’t look finished yet. A little too plain for me. Maybe some pearls? What do you think? I’d love some suggestions… I used the new Circle Thinlits die from Stampin’ Up!. These dies take so much of the work out of making these flip flop cards. I LOVE THEM! The flower I made using the Blossom punch and coffee filters! Colors are Raspberry Ripple and Pink Pirouette. I saw a tutorial on YouTube from France Martin for the flower.   (video is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzuJ4qrZsfE ) I didn’t have the Creped Filter paper so I used what I had on hand. I was so excited that it worked!
