Tiny Milk Carton

I was playing around yesterday and made a couple tiny milk cartons. I didn’t really have any purpose in mind at the time but thought they were so cute. I only made white ones as a template for later use.

Well, I’m not sure if I dreamed it or just had the idea come to me in the night. But, I have 2 granddaughters that have birthdays and knew I would be getting together with them today to celebrate. I always give them money because it just makes it easier on me and them. This little milk carton came to mind as a vessel to hold their money gift! I was so excited, I don’t know I slept the rest of the night. LOL! Anyway, this is what I came up with.

I added a photo with the ruler to show how tiny they really are. They are 2 1/2″ tall and measure 1 1/2″ square. So much more fun then just giving a card, don’t you think? I use the clips as a closure so that the money can be accessed easily and the box can be reused.

I have been asked to add directions for this box. I will do my best. Cardstock size 6 3/8″ X 4 1/4″ Score with long side at the top 1 1/2″, 3″, 4 1/2″, & 6″. Turn and score short side at 1 1/2″, 3″, & 4″. In the template you can see that you need to cut off the bottom right hand corner. Crease all your score lines. For the triangle score lines at the top, I just used my mouse pad and stylist and eyeballed it. You cut from the bottom up to the first score line. Sticky strip goes on the right all the way to the top. I’m sorry I know the hand drawn template is crude. But I hope it is at least clear enough for you to understand. Valentine Treat

Just a quick post today. I love Valentine’s Day and I love giving little treats.

I made several of these little Sour Cream pouches and filled them with Valentine M&M’s. The paper stacks are perfect for this project. I just cut an inch off one side so that they measured 4 1/2″ X 5 1/2″ and it made them just the right size. I used the new tag punch from the Occasions catalog. I can see that this punch is going to be very useful! And added some glimmer paper, which added just the right touch. This was one of my projects for my class this month. The ladies loved them. Embossing Folder/Card Box Part 2

This is a follow up to yesterday’s post. ………….

Rosettes are another thing I enjoy making. With this one I used the Scallop Trim Boarder punch for the edging. The heart was punched from the silver glimmer paper.

Wisteria Wonder cardstock and DSP paper stacks adorn this box. The bow was made with the Bigz Bow Die from the Holiday catalog (and is still available). A quick easy way to embellish a project.

I used the Watercolor Wonder DSP on this box. And it is the same DSP that I used with the Tangerine Tango box on yesterdays post. Even though it isn’t meant to go with the Pink Pirouette I noticed that when paired with it, the match is fantastic!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these as much as I enjoyed making them. Again, this box was designed by Sam, not me. She actually intended it to be used as a card holder box, but as crafters do, someone found another use for them. And I was so thrilled to find something so pretty to store my embossing folders in! These were too pretty to keep all to myself. I packaged 2 of them up for friends for Valentine’s Day. I chose the ones that I knew were colors that they liked. I added an embossing folder and a small gift. I liked the results so much that I was thinking of doing some card kits for selling at our next craft sale.

Embossing Folder/Card Box

This is another one of Sam Donald’s patterns. I may have gotten carried away this time. I had so much fun making these boxes! Each one I did, made me want to make more. Stampin’ Up! has such beautiful paper that I wanted to try different color combinations.

For this box I used Gumball Green and the Watercolor Wonder DSP now available in the Occasions Catalog. I scored the DSP wrong and didn’t realize it until I had the glue all over it. I hate wasting such beautiful paper but couldn’t save it with glue all over it. So, I folded it in half and cut & scored another piece. When I was ready to embellish  the box I saw the ruined piece of DSP laying there and decided to cut a flower out of it. It worked great since it was double thickness!

With this box I used Tangerene Tango Carkstock and Watercolor Wonder DSP. I also used the Petite Petals Stamp set and matching punch now available in the Occasions catalog.

I think this one has to be my favorite. But it comes as no surprise since I love pink! I used Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo.

Cube Boxes With Lids

I love making boxes. I think I’ve said this before. (-: Okay, several times. These ones are right up there with my favorites!

The pattern for these boxes was designed by Sam Donald. She is brilliant at making boxes and is quick to share her talents. After watching her video, this is what I came up with. They are much prettier in person. The Crisp Cantaloupe is my favorite as it looks so elegant. It looks like a fancy jewelry box. What do you think?
